Figure Drawing Fundamentals
ONE DAY WORKSHOP We are very excited to be offering a one day Figure drawing fundamentals workshop on Saturday March 23 from 11 am to 5pm. If you are feeling like your drawing might need a refresher or… Are just starting out in drawing and want a solid foundation going forward, this class will cover fundamental drawing precepts, starting with how to sharpen and hold pencils, capturing the gesture, observational practices, proportion, foreshortening, light and shadow and everything in between. The class will begin at 11 am at our new annex space where students will begin the day learning concepts and principles of traditional figure drawing. This will include working from photographs and demos by the instructor. Some subject covered will be: shading techniques, line work and understanding and working through the challenges encountered when drawing the live figure. Following a lunch break, the class will move into the main studio in the afternoon to put into practice what they have learned, drawing from a live model for three hour and one-on-one instruction from the teacher. Registration is now open, fee covers all paper and model fees students are asked to bring they're own pencils as specified in material list (below) as well as a sketchbook to take notes.
