Drawing has always been the single most important skill artists must acquire, Even with the overwhelming prevalence of digital media, knowing the basics of traditional drawing still remains the key to a successful art practice. This beginning level series follows a step by step approach in presenting the essential principles of drawing. Students will be learning the importance of light and shadow, drawing accuracy, proportion, line, value, tone, negative space, perspective, the basics of composition and 2d design. Students will also learn to asses and critically judge their own work to further improve their skills. We will be working mainly in black and white beginning with still life setups, and eventually from a live model. A great first course that can lay the foundation to all branches of the visual arts, traditional or digital. No previous experience in drawing or art is necessary only a strong willingness to learn and work. Price includes all materials and model fees. |
